Once a hard drive has mapped out enough bad sectors that it's starting to report to you there are bad sectors, this is the beginning of the end. The other day while I was restarting I got stuck on the grey/blue boot screen with the apple and spinning circle. My free disk space is about 11GB. It's because of that game the iMac got stuck and I had to hard reboot Did you try your installation disc first?

Good luck and I recommend backing up (obviously) from now on. Good luck! I would try disconnecting the cable at both ends and re-connecting them, lets see if this corrects the problem, it certainly wouldn't hurt and may resolve the problem.
